What it is
Body fillers are injectable dermal fillers placed beneath the skin to restore lost volume or refine contour on areas of the body, such as the hips, buttocks, hands, knees and décolletage.
Body fillers offer a non-surgical way to restore volume, enhance shape and refresh areas of the body, using smooth, gel-like substances to add volume, contour shape and support skin quality. Depending on the goal, the filler is either hyaluronic acid-based or collagen-stimulating, and the type and technique are selected for the area being treated.
Common uses include filling areas such as hip dips or restoring volume to the buttocks for a fuller, more balanced silhouette; correcting textural irregularities such as cellulite depressions, scar indentations or bony hands; and supporting skin quality in areas prone to thinning or creasing, such as the knees, elbows or chest.
At Shookra, body fillers are carried out under doctor-led clinical protocols. Your clinician assesses the area and your proportions, selects the filler type and injection technique to suit your anatomy, and works toward a result that stays proportional and natural-looking rather than applying a fixed formula.

Who it's for
Body fillers suit anyone looking to restore volume that has been lost over time or to refine the contour of a specific area without surgery. They are often considered for hip dips, flatness or volume loss in the buttocks, thinning or bony-looking hands, lines across the décolletage, and the crepey skin that can affect the knees and elbows. Cellulite depressions and indented scars can also be softened.
Because filler type, placement and volume are adjustable, treatment can be kept subtle for a light refresh or built up gradually for more established volume loss. Your clinician confirms suitability, discusses realistic outcomes and reviews your medical history and any medications before treating.
- Volume loss in the hips and buttocks
- Thinning or bony-looking hands
- Lines and crepiness across the décolletage
- Cellulite depressions and indented scars
- Crepey skin on the knees and elbows
- Non-surgical body contour refinement
Who it’s not for
A few situations mean it’s better to wait, or to choose a different treatment:
- An active infection or broken skin at the treatment site
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Known hypersensitivity to filler ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or lidocaine
- A bleeding disorder or use of blood-thinning medication
This isn’t exhaustive, and none of it rules you out on its own — your clinician confirms suitability at consultation.
What to expect
- 01
Consult & plan
Your clinician reviews your goals, proportions and medical history, then selects the filler type and injection technique suited to your anatomy and the area being treated.
- 02
Inject & shape
Filler is administered using microcannulas or fine needles to place product precisely and support comfort. You may feel pressure or mild stinging as the area is shaped section by section.
- 03
Settle & review
Mild swelling or bruising can follow and usually settles within a few days. You'll receive aftercare guidance and a follow-up to check the result as the filler settles.
Physician note
On Body Fillers
Away from the face, the priority is proportion — reading the area as a whole rather than chasing a single measurement. I tend to build volume gradually over more than one visit, reviewing how the filler settles before adding more, because under-correcting is far easier to refine than over-correcting. The technique and product are chosen for the area in front of me, and we talk through realistic outcomes before anything is placed.
