Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) in Dubai
Loose abdominal skin and separated muscle often follow pregnancy or a large change in weight, and neither responds well to diet or exercise. At Shookra, a tummy tuck starts with a specialist consultation: we assess what is excess skin, what is muscle, and what is realistic before anything is planned.

What Is Tummy Tuck?
A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen — and can repair separated abdominal muscles (diastasis).
A tummy tuck is surgery to remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen and, where needed, repair abdominal muscles that have separated. It addresses loose skin and laxity — often after pregnancy or significant weight change — rather than fat alone.
It is not a weight-loss procedure, and it is different from liposuction: a tummy tuck targets loose skin and muscle separation, while liposuction removes fat and does nothing for the skin left behind. The assessment separates which of these concerns applies to you.
At Shookra this is a consultation-led pathway: our specialists assess your goals and plan your options with you. We will set out how the procedure would be carried out, and by whom, as part of that conversation.

Who Is Tummy Tuck For?
A tummy tuck is usually considered by people with excess abdominal skin or muscle separation — commonly after pregnancy or a large change in weight — that has not responded to diet and exercise.
Suitability depends on your skin, the degree of muscle separation, general health and whether your weight is stable, all of which the specialist reviews at consultation. Where a different option is a better fit, we will say so.
- Excess or loose skin over the abdomen
- Laxity after pregnancy or weight change
- Separated abdominal muscles (diastasis)
- A lower-abdomen contour diet and exercise has not changed
Who it’s not for
A few situations mean it’s better to wait, or to choose a different treatment:
- Planning further pregnancies, which can undo the muscle repair
- Still losing a significant amount of weight — surgery is usually better considered once weight is stable
- Some uncontrolled medical conditions or medicines that affect healing or bleeding
This isn’t exhaustive, and none of it rules you out on its own — your clinician confirms suitability at consultation.

- 03
Planning your route
If you choose to proceed, the plan — what the procedure involves, the recovery and the risks, and how it would be carried out — is set out before any decision is made.

On Tummy Tuck
Timing matters more than most people expect with a tummy tuck. I usually suggest waiting until you have finished having children and your weight has been stable for a while, because both change what surgery can hold. The consultation is where we look honestly at your skin and muscle and decide together whether this is the right step now — that is the point of a consultation-led approach.
