About Dr. Sharmila Tulpule
Dr. Sharmila Tulpule is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon who has practised in Dubai since 2005, and set up and led the orthopaedics and arthroscopy department at Zulekha Hospital, Dubai. She holds an MBBS and an MS in Orthopaedics from Nagpur University, where she was university topper in her MS, and an MCh in Orthopaedics from the University of Seychelles. She is both a Diplomate and a Fellow of the American Board of Regenerative Medicine, and teaches on its diplomate course. Her clinical work centres on degenerative joint conditions and sports injuries, alongside minimal-access arthroscopic surgery, particularly of the knee. She has published peer-reviewed research on orthobiologics in shoulder and knee conditions, and co-authored chapters in the textbook Orthobiologics.
Dr. Sharmila practises at Shookra in Business Bay, Dubai, under DHA licence. Consultations are diagnosis-first: an assessment before any treatment is recommended, and a plan built from what it shows.
