LED Light Therapy in Dubai

A gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light — usually red and blue — delivered to the skin by a low-heat LED panel or mask. Comfortable and contactless, it is often added to a facial or used as a short standalone session, and is performed under DHA-licensed medical supervision at our Dubai clinic.

What it is

LED light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that applies specific wavelengths of light to the skin — commonly red and blue — using a low-heat LED device held over or near the treatment area.

LED light therapy uses light-emitting diodes to deliver controlled wavelengths of light onto the skin. Different colours sit at different wavelengths, and a treatment may use one or combine more than one depending on the skin in front of the clinician. The device is held over or close to the skin and the light is non-thermal, so a session is comfortable and does not involve heat or downtime.

Red light sits at the longer-wavelength end and is generally used as a calming, skin-supporting wavelength. Blue light sits at the shorter end and is generally directed at blemish-prone skin. The colours are selected to suit the concern rather than applied to a fixed formula.

At Shookra, LED is delivered within doctor-led protocols and most often used as a supportive step alongside other skin treatments. Your clinician assesses your skin, selects the wavelengths, and sets the session length and cadence.

Who it's for

LED light therapy suits people looking for a gentle, low-commitment skin treatment with no downtime — whether to support calmer, more comfortable skin, to help manage blemish-prone or oilier skin, or simply to add a soothing step to an existing facial. Because it is contactless and non-thermal, it is often a comfortable option for skin that does not tolerate more active treatments well.

It is best thought of as a supportive treatment within a wider skin plan rather than a single fix. Your clinician confirms suitability, selects the wavelengths, and advises how LED fits alongside your other skincare and treatments at consultation.

  • Oily, blemish-prone skin
  • Sensitive skin and redness
  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Support after other treatments
  • Uneven, lacklustre tone

Who it’s not for

A few situations mean it’s better to wait, or to choose a different treatment:

  • Known photosensitivity, or use of photosensitising medication
  • An active skin infection or broken skin in the treatment area
  • Epilepsy or other light-sensitivity considerations
  • Protective eyewear is required during treatment; flag any eye conditions to your clinician beforehand

This isn’t exhaustive, and none of it rules you out on its own — your clinician confirms suitability at consultation.

What to expect

  1. 01

    Cleanse & position

Your skin is cleansed and any eyewear or protective shielding is put in place. The LED panel or mask is then positioned over or close to the treatment area.

  2. 02

    Light session

The selected wavelengths are delivered while you rest. The light is non-thermal and contactless, so the session is comfortable — you simply relax for the set time, usually around 10 to 20 minutes.

  3. 03

    Finish & advise

The device is removed and your skin is finished with moisturiser and broad-spectrum SPF as appropriate. There is no downtime, and your clinician advises on cadence and how LED fits your routine.

Physician note

On LED Light Therapy

I see LED as a supportive, gentle addition to a skin plan rather than a standalone answer. It is comfortable, contactless and easy to tolerate, which makes it a sensible step alongside facials or for skin that does not get on with more active treatments. I keep expectations measured: consistency over a short course tends to matter more than any single session, and I select the wavelengths to suit the skin in front of me.

Questions

01Does LED light therapy hurt or involve any heat?
No. The light is non-thermal and the device does not touch the skin, so a session is comfortable — most people simply rest while the light is delivered. You wear protective eyewear throughout.
02What is the difference between red and blue light?
They are different wavelengths used for different purposes. Red light is generally used as a calming, skin-supporting wavelength, while blue light is generally directed at blemish-prone skin. Your clinician selects the wavelengths to suit your skin.
03Is there any downtime after LED light therapy?
There is no downtime. The treatment is gentle and contactless, so you can return to your day straight afterwards. Your clinician will finish your skin and advise on aftercare and sun protection.
04How many sessions will I need?
LED is usually used as a short course rather than a single session, and is often combined with other treatments. Your clinician recommends a cadence based on your skin and goals at consultation, rather than a set package.
05Can LED light therapy be added to a facial?
Yes. LED is commonly used as a supportive step alongside facials and other skin treatments. Your clinician will advise how it fits your wider plan and routine.
06What does LED Light Therapy cost at Shookra?
Pricing depends on whether LED is a standalone session or part of a wider treatment, and the course your skin needs. Message us on WhatsApp and the team will share current pricing and help you book.
