What is a longevity clinic?
A longevity clinic focuses on measuring how you are ageing and intervening early — before disease, not only after it. At Shookra that means diagnostics-led, physician-supervised care: we assess your biomarkers and body composition, then design evidence-based protocols and track them over time.
How is biological age measured?
Biological age is estimated from measurable inputs — blood biomarkers (metabolic, inflammatory, hormonal), cardiovascular signals and body composition among them. No single test defines it; your physician interprets the full panel together to estimate your rate of ageing and where it is concentrated.
What does the assessment involve?
A consultation and a panel of diagnostics — bloodwork, body composition and functional measures among them — built to read your trajectory rather than a single result. Your physician explains the findings and what, if anything, is worth acting on.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. You can book a consultation directly on WhatsApp; your physician will discuss your goals and history and recommend the right assessment to start with.
What is longevity medicine, actually?
It is medicine aimed at healthspan — the years lived in good function — rather than only at treating disease once it appears. In practice that means measuring the systems that determine how you are ageing, reading them together, and acting on the ones where intervening earlier changes the trajectory. It is not an alternative to conventional care; it works alongside it.
How is this different from an annual health check?
A standard check is built to detect disease that is already established. A longevity assessment looks earlier and across more systems — metabolic, cardiovascular, hormonal, inflammatory, body composition — because most of what determines healthspan is measurable well before it becomes a diagnosis. Both are useful; they answer different questions.
Is biological age testing reliable?
It has improved considerably and is a useful research-backed input when interpreted properly — but it is one input among many, not a verdict. Its real value is tracking change over time when measured consistently. It is not a prediction of how long you will live, and we do not present it as one.
